Sea-Tac’s New Art Installation
from Seattle News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Sea-Tac Airport just dropped a jaw-dropping new art piece called “Migration” — a vibrant, 80-piece fiberglass sculpture by Seattle’s Angelina Villalobos, crafted with epoxy paint and glittery mosaic tiles for maximum pop from afar. After a two-year build, it’s timed to dazzle before the World Cup, marking Tieton Mosaic’s boldest departure from their tiny-tile roots. The playful “mighty SLUG!” shape and collaborative design process with Port of Seattle crew make it uniquely Seattle. And hey — this isn’t their first rodeo at Sea-Tac: they’ve already painted two other terminals, and are already hard at work on a new mural for Central Washington University.
