Andrea was adopted at birth through Catholic Social Services in southeast Michigan. Her adoptive parents told her the truth about her adoption but didn't have any information on her birth parents. When Andrea was 23, her adopted parents passed away Avery young ages. Andrea later decided to petition the Court to have her adoption file opened. From it she learned her birth mom's identity. Rania Awaad Muslim Central Dr. Rania Awaad M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine where she is the Director of the Stanford Muslim Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab as well as Stanford University’s Affiliate Chaplain.
