Nickels, Spud and the princess--currently a little bird, rat thing--search for their mechanical colleague and vessel, Ship; but the foliage is so thick that they are uncertain where he might be. Therefore, they separate, as Em uses her bat wings to get a bird's eye view of the strange terrain; and it isn't long after, that Nickels and Spud have a brush with the exotic lifeforms that dwell therein. And, this merely touches upon the immediate set of problems that the crew of Recovery Services are about to face! Will they ever find Ship, and will he be intact? Will they escape from this treacherous planet and find a way to restore Em back to her natural form? And, are they safe from the clutches from the maniacal Darwin and his terrible minion?
