There are more than 8 billion people on this planet and by the time your head hits the pillow tonight, that number will have risen by several hundred thousand more.  It’s the enormity of this planet that has always made me wonder why we cross paths with people at certain times and why we don’t with others. Is it by chance, coincidence or is it through the choices we make?  The answer to this question will never likely be known, but I do know that on any given day we may miss the opportunity to hear a new voice or story, simply because we choose to focus on our differences rather than our similarities.  My guest this week is someone whose life on paper couldn’t be more different than mine, and is exactly the reason why this episode is so special. We connected because we both chose to look past the external and meet each other just as we are - two people taking up space on this incredible planet, simply navigating similar experiences. Patrick Dougher is a kindred spirit, whose life has thrown him a multitude of identities that he has chosen to dismiss, in order to find one where he can be seen and heard as his most authentic self.  I hope you enjoy our conversation and that it encourages you to meet every person without agenda, judgement or expectation and with a sense of gratitude that in a planet of 8 billion people, your paths were lucky enough to meet.   Connect with Patrick Dougher: https://www.godbodyart.com/  Connect with me: www.awaywithwords.media #flipitpodcast #FlipItwitLauraHearn Instagram: laura_lhearn TikTok: laura_lhearn Watch clips of this episode on YouTube: @FlipItwithLauraHearn  Sign up to my newsletter and join the Flip It community here: www.chaptersbylaurahearn.ck.page/8ceb71fb87 If you have a story to share, I’d love to hear from you:  www.speakpipe.com/FlipIt www.awaywithwords.media/podcast   Hosted on Acast.
