Senator Ben Cardin on Saudi Oil Field Attacks
from Midday · host WYPR 88.1 FM Baltimore
Last Saturday's drone attack at one of the world's largest oil refineries in Saudi Arabia destroyed about 5% of the global oil supply. The Trump Administration and a lot of independent reporting has indicated that Iran is behind the attack, although Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility. Senator Ben Cardin (D., MD) a member of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, joins Tom on the line from Capitol Hill to discuss the details of the attack, how it is fueling tensions in the Middle East, and how the U.S. ought to respond.Email us at [email protected], tweet us: @MiddayWYPR, or call us at 410-662-8780.
