Today, we share Diamonds and Bullets, an all vocal theatrical experience produced by Oakland-based arts and consulting company Edutainment for Equity, to provoke greater understanding and empathy for the statement “Black Lives Matter”. It features music of Bay Area Hip Hop Vocal Ensemble Antique Naked Soul, headed by songwriter and activist Candice Antique Davis and Grammy Award Winning Artist MC Soulati aka Tommy Shepherd. The script was written by scholar, artist and activist Hodari Davis, and our own host of Law and Disorder Cat Brooks. • Artist Resistance in Residence: Ryan Nicole

    08/26/2022

The mission of law & disorder is to expose, agitate and build a new world where all of us can thrive. But how do we get there? How do we build a world many of us have only seen in our dreams? That’s where we believe the artists come in. So, each week we feature an artist, holding down a weekly residency with us, helping us to imagine a different, more liberated world. This week’s Artist Residence in Resistance is Ryan Nicole. In her own words, she is an artist, actress, activist, athlete, wife, sister, daughter, woman, Black woman, and for the record – one of the dopest female emcees that host Cat Brooks has ever heard.
