Disappointment has been expressed over the amount of Sligo applications rejected for humanitarian following the effects of Storm Eowyn.Some of those who have been denied are people who went without power for over two weeks.The scheme was set up in the aftermath of the storm, but is now facing calls to be reopened.Ballymote-Tubbercurry Fine Gael Cllr Gerard Mullaney is calling upon the Minister to address this as government level.Cllr Mullaney has called for the VAT to be removed from generators, to help people cope with future storms:
