SITB 181 feat. Parker Cohen (Artist Manager)

from Sherm In The Booth · host Sherm In The Booth

Episode 181 features someone from behind the scenes who plays an instrumental role in the development of artists and their careers - I am so excited to have the one and only Parker Cohen of Metatone Management on SITB!!  I firmly believe that people like Parker are the lifeblood of the music industry because they help bring everything together when it comes to making it as an artist in this game. Incredible conversation throughout. In 181 we discussed: •Getting into the music industry: Born and raised in Dallas, Parker always had his sights set on big things. After graduating from UConn, Parker decided to move to AZ to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He cut his teeth hustling as an artist relations manager while working at Yelp! until he made the jump to join his long time friend Holt Harmon in artist management. They co-founded Metatone management and they haven't slowed down since. ⏩⏩ •Building Metatone: Parker and Holt work side by side managing artists like John Summit, Kyler Walker, FREAK ON, Deeper Purpose, Ranger Trucco and HoneyLuv. We went deep and discussed their roles and what it really means to be a manager versus an agent or publicist. They've played an instrumental part in giving their artists the bandwidth to focus on their craft and brands while they take care of the rest. Incredible team as a whole. 🤩 •Music Industry 101: Parker and I have both had lots of ups and downs in this game and we shared some stories and pieces of advice for anyone who is trying to make it on any side of the industry. Parker has a really unique perspective on the future of dance music and we had a great conversation on why house music is bigger and better than ever. 🏆 If you know Parker through social media, then you know he loves to have a good time. However, he knows how to get down to business and takes his company and artists' careers very seriously - at the end of the day, we're all just trying to make it and have as much fun as we can along the way. 👏🏻 Mad love and respect to Parker, Holt and the whole Metatone team - so excited to see what the future holds for them.  ⭐️
