SITB 195 feat. Mary Droppinz (DJ/Producer)

from Sherm In The Booth · host Sherm In The Booth

195 features the incredibly talented DJ/Producer Mary Droppinzzz!! I caught up with Alyssa via Zoom and had such a blast talking with her. This interview has it all. 🎙 In 195 we discussed: •Journey Into House Music: Alyssa was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up listening to rock and punk. It wasn't until one fateful Spring Break in Cancun where she witnessed Steve Aoki deliver energy through music like she had never experienced - she was hooked! Eventually she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in dance music (while still hustling a day job at Native Instruments) and fell in love the house music scene. Now, all these years later, she's making BIG waves and absolutely loving every minute of it. 🥰 •Discography: Although Mary's first release was early 2021, she's delivered hit after hit staying consistent with quality while also bending the rules of sound. With tracks like "Crypto Queen" with Baby J + Cyber Rodeo and "Acid Mother" both via POPGANG records, and her incredible remix of LP Giobbi's "Take My Hand", there's no denying that she's different from the rest. 💫 •Dance Music Community: Throughout this interview, Mary and I talked about the different collectives, labels and groups in the scene that have taken us in all based on the love of music. Mary is closely affiliated with Femme House, Desert Hearts, Justin Jay's Fantastic Voyage and Dirtybird Records - all of which have made massive impacts on the scene. This is what it's all about, spreading love through music and sharing those moments together. ❤️‍🔥 I was already a fan of Mary Droppinz but after this interview I'm now a superfan. Her energy is amazing and she's insanely talented - not to mention she is hilarious. 🤣 Absolutely LOVED this interview and I know you will too 🤘🏻 linktr.ee/sherminthebooth
