SITB 204 feat. Truth x Lies (DJ/Producer Duo)

from Sherm In The Booth · host Sherm In The Booth

It is truly a pleasure to have one of the hottest acts in house music right now, the dynamic duo known as Truth x Lies!  When I say Ryan and Ian are legends, I'm still downplaying them. This was a really special interview because it was a bit unorthodox but you know what, that's how we like it!! 🤣 In episode 204 we got it all in and discussed: •Journey Into The Industry: Ian is from Westchester NY and Ryan is originally from Florida and their paths crossed in New York City. They both have deep-rooted musical backgrounds and decided to pursue a career in the industry together. They started throwing parties together in Harlem (including an epic paint party) and releasing house music - Truth x Lies was born but their journey had only just begun. 📖 •Discography: Like many house producers, TxL didn't start off making tech house. In fact, one of their first releases called "City Lights" is a fusion of deep and tropical house and has racked in over 2 million plays on Spotify. Although the success was great, their hearts told them to go a different direction and they pursued house and tech house - today, their discography includes releases on some globally recognized labels like Techne, Sink or Swim, Dirtybird, Night Service Only and they have an official remix of Zhu's "Zhudio54". can I get a Sheesh sheesh?! 🗣 •Longevity: We connected on so many things in this interview (except maybe some Chicago vs NYC food preferences) but one topic hit home the hardest: longevity. We all are in this for the pure love of music and now find ourselves connecting with like-minded individuals (the DJ Susans and Cloverdales of the world) who are in it for the same reasons. While there are so many ups and downs in an artists career, it's important to always remind yourself why you got into it because that reason will take you the distance. 💫 This interview really has it all - hilarious conversation, genuine pieces of advice, music knowledge and positive energy throughout the entirety of the interview. These guys are so damn talented and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. 🙌🏻 linktr.ee/sherminthebooth
