SITB 211 feat. Rachel Narozniak (Music Journalist/Editor-in-Chief, DA)

from Sherm In The Booth · host Sherm In The Booth

You guys know how much I love interviewing people who are more behind the scenes and today we have a VERY Special guest - Dancing Astronaut's editor-in-chief Rachel Narozniak!  This one has been a long time coming and it's one of my favorite interviews ever - she's such a genuine, smart, and talented individual who makes massive contributions to the dance music industry in so many ways. ⭐️ In 211 we got it all in: •Journey Into Dance Music: Rachel was born and raised in NJ and has always had a strong connection with music. Her parents were major influences as she was growing up and eventually discovered dance music and fell in love immediately - her first show was Kasakde... that has gotta be on the best artists to show you what electronic music is all about! She started writing for Crust Nation in 2016 and fully pursued dance music journalism - the rest is history! 📖 •Dancing Astronaut: Rachel has been at DA since 2017 and has worked her way to become the Editor-In-Chief - she's released over 2200 unique pieces spread across news stories, album/track/product reviews,Q&A's, original features and more. We went deep on how DA works and it's vital role in dance music. DA is constantly trying to give upcoming artists a platform for their story and music to be heard. I have so much respect for her and the whole team, they are truly unique and have such a massive influence on the scene as a whole. ❤️ •Digital Age of Journalism: Rachel and I had a truly amazing discussion on the parallels of being a DJ and a journalist in today's age. Rachel and I shared stories and experiences of how much has changed over the years but how important it is to remember the foundations of what our industry is built on - authenticity. Rachel shared some of her perspectives on the future of journalism and how the investigative approach and how the digital age supports the ability to cover special stories. 📝 Rachel aka "The Queen of Adjectives" deserves a lot of recognition - this is someone that has spent countless hours researching, writing, creating and releasing truly special pieces of content. She gives back to dance music what it gives to her ten fold - I really respect that.👏🏻 Thanks SO much for coming on the show and I cannot wait to meet you in person one day soon. 🙌🏻
