SITB 212 feat. Jakeshoredrive(DJ/Producer)

from Sherm In The Booth · host Sherm In The Booth

Yo yo what's up everyone!!! It's been too long but I am so happy to be back. For those that didn't know, I got married in July and went on my honeymoon to Greece with my wife Maya. We had such an amazing time and it was a much needed break - remember to always take time for yourselves! But you already know I would be back and comin in HOT with a big episode for the great return. I am so excited to have Chicago DJ/Producer @jakeshoredrive on for SITB 212! last time Jake was on was September 2020 and SO much has happened since then. Needless to say, we had a lot to catch up on. 📝 In 212 we discussed: •JSD Discography: Although Jake has been in the music industry for years, he started producing just over 2 years ago and has been hammering out release after release. We ran through some of his biggest tracks like "Who High" with Chris Diaz and Fya Man on Hood Politics Records, his massive hit "Rock Your Hips" with MikeandMe, and of course his banging remixes of tracks like "ABCDEFU" and "About Damn Time" - this man is truly coming into his own in the studio and is creating amazing music. 🎵 •TikTok Blow Up: Some of you may know Jake from TikTok - he had multiple videos go absolutely VIRAL of him showing house music to his 3rd grade class. He was featured in Newsweek, DJ Mag and multiple other news outlets for his unique approach to the classroom culture. We discussed the power of TikTok and how this engine helped him organically blow up his track "Rock Your Hips" and his brand. Incredible stuff. 😎 •Mental Health/Sobriety: One of the many reasons Jake and I are good friends is because we always make sure to check in on each other's mental health. Most people only see the finished product of what we create and want more - but you can't run on empty. You have to recharge. Jake is also very outspoken about his sobriety from alcohol and shared some of his highs and lows on his journey being sober in the music industry. Really powerful conversation. 🙌🏻 Watching Jake grow over these past two years has truly been a pleasure to witness. He is an artist whose mission is to make an impact on the world but have a damn good time doing it. Homie deserves some serious acknowledgement on his endeavors- supporting artists DJ Snake and Sidepiece, racking in hundreds of thousands of streams, and most importantly - helping the younger generation of artists come into their own. ⭐️ Thank you for coming back on the show and spending some time with me my friend. This was a very special episode for me. ❤️ Now enough of me talking let's get into it right now so you can hear his story for yourselves - this is episode 212 with JakeShoreDrive 🤘🏻 linktr.ee/sherminthebooth
