Sligo Restaurant Owner has beef with soaring prices
A Sligo restaurantuer has warned that the cost of Irish beef may soon reach the point where diners will not be able to justify the cost and as result it could disappear from menus.Farmers are currently revelling in the soaring prices they are getting from factories however restaurants and butchers say they are going to have to pass on some of the cost to consumersIt's thought that the cost of beef entering into restaurants has increased by 20 percent since Christmas and it's being speculated that the rising prices could force restaurants into charge €50 for steaks.Anthony Gray runs the Eala Bhán and Hooked Restaurants in Sligo.He says it's very possible that beef will be disappearing from the menu due to the supply and high prices
