At age 20, Svetlana Basukinskaya was diagnosed with a brainstem cavernoma. These benign vascular lesions often cause no symptoms, but Sveta's was devastating. It bled into her cerebellum, affecting her entire autonomic system, vision, movement, balance, coordination, muscle tone, and much more. After surviving a six-hour brain surgery, Sveta's real work began.
