Snow | Rhode Island Weather Noon
from The Rhode Island Weather Podcast
Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Rhode Island Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. That snow falling on your windshield? Consider it a farewell performance. Rhode Island picked up about a third of an inch overnight. And this clipper system is packing its bags by early afternoon. So breathe easy. Providence and the Bay both top out near 38 degrees today. Right on schedule for late February. Southwest gusts hit 25 miles an hour through midday.. The kind that'll rip a coffee lid right off your cup. They calm down tonight. Skies stay stubborn and cloudy even after the snow clears. Lows dip to 28 degrees inland, 31 degrees along the Bay. Between 9 P.M. And 2 A.M., a weak front sneaks through with a slight chance of scattered rain or snow showers. Nothing dramatic. Just enough to keep your wipers honest. Thursday is the gem. Mostly sunny, highs near 41 degrees, light northwest winds around 5 to 9 miles an hour. Honestly? Perfect for a lunchtime stroll along the waterfront. Thursday night cools to the upper teens inland, low twenties on the coast. Now the week ahead tells an interesting story. Friday stays sunny near 38 degrees. Saturday? That's the headliner. Mid 40s with sunshine. Almost feels like spring is flirting with us. Sunday holds steady near 38. Then.. The plot twist. An Arctic outbreak crashes the party late weekend into early next week. Monday and Tuesday highs struggle to crack the upper twenties. Lows plunge to the low teens, possibly single digits inland. There's a chance of snow Monday into Tuesday, but the details are still fuzzy. I'll have sharper numbers as we get closer. Folks, charge your phone and top off that windshield fluid. This week's got a little bit of everything. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
