Some members of the 49ers admitted they didn’t know the Super Bowl OT rules after the game…how is that possible?

-Per CBS Sports, several 49ers said after the game they didn’t know that OT rules had changed and thought if they scored a TD first in OT, they would have won-If they had scored the TD first in OT on their opening drive, the Chiefs would have a chance to respond—which is not the case in a normal NFL game-Is it right to have the rule change in the Super Bowl like that?
