"Spanish Harlem” is a Worldwide popular song that has been translated into several languages and made popular all over the planet. It was written (and ready to go) by Jerry Leiber (lyrics) and Phil Spector, a music composer. Also, during the song ensemble in the recording studio, Mike Stroller collaborated in the music arrangement. That was 1960. The voice to perform the song was chosen and the popular Ben E. King became the first artist to do Spanish Harlem. The song was a hit and soon it was picked up by a long list of performers wanting to capitalize on an internationally successful song all over the World. Because Ben E. King was a popular artist, a good musician, and singer, well known at that time as the leader of the Commodores, there is no question in anybody’s mind that the song took off to the skies. Since 1960 and even today it is a beautiful song; we all are proud of its authors. Many covers have been produced and even today, the song is considered to be a classic in the American way of music.
