from The West Virginia Weather Podcast
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the West Virginia Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th. Step outside right now and you're at 44 degrees under a loaded gray sky. A clipper system is sliding through this morning with snow. And it's making the morning commute interesting. The Northern Panhandle takes the brunt of it. Snow cranks up at 6 A.M. and wraps by 9 A.M. Heaviest around 6 A.M. when there's a 71 percent chance. You'll climb to 47 degrees by 3 P.M., then drop hard to 28 degrees by tomorrow morning at 6 A.M. Winds flip from southwest to west around 4 P.M. Early on, it'll feel like 27 degrees around 7 A.M. Cover up if you're scraping windshields. Southern West Virginia gets snow from 6 A.M. to 11 A.M. Peak odds hit 50 percent around 7 A.M. You start at 35 degrees around 6 A.M., then warm to 50 degrees by 4 P.M. Winds shift around noon. Feels like 26 degrees early, so Dress warmly for the school run. Central West Virginia sees a messy mix from 6 A.M. to 9 A.M. You'll hit 56 degrees by 4 P.M., then slide to 36 degrees by tomorrow at 6 A.M. Winds change around 2 P.M. Tonight, rain creeps in after 9 P.M. across central and southern areas. Thursday brings another round of rain and snow, highs mid-40s to near 50. But Friday and Saturday? Beautiful. High pressure locks in with sunshine. Saturday could touch the low 60s in spots, about ten degrees warmer than normal for late February. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight today. And spring is just three weeks out. Next week, another system swings through Monday into Tuesday with rain and snow chances. Stay dry this morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
