Spiritual Formation - Corporate Disciplines - Worship and Christian Conference | Pastor Calvary Callender

from Lantana Community Church · host Lantana Community Church

We cannot overstate the importance of community life for Christians. We have been conditioned to think that individualism is the right way to go, but that is not at all what we learn from Jesus or the scriptures. John Wesley started something he called societies, bands, and classes to help accomplish community. These small groups prayed together, ate together, and held each other accountable. At our church, not only do we have church on Sunday mornings, we too have small groups. You might have heard of our Sunday School and home group Ministries. We have small group and discipleship classes throughout the week for every age and most interest groups. I hope that we can learn to live in community, to hold each other accountable, pray together, eat together, love one another...to become a New Testament church. One that is on fire for God and wants to spread that fire, all the while living under God’s Grace.
