Standing in grace means receiving God's love before we can ever extend it to others. Like Ted Stallard, we all carry invisible pain and need grace we cannot earn. Romans 5:1-5 reveals what happens when we stand in God's grace: we find peace, discover hope, and are formed into people of character. God changed everything by sacrificing Himself for those who caused the pain. Through suffering, we develop perseverance, which produces character, and character produces hope that does not disappoint. We didn't deserve it or earn it, but God's love was poured out anyway, transforming everything it touches.
