How do we lead and become the best version of ourselves? How did our nation become so divided and income inequality so staggering? What were our founding principles and how can we, as Americans, live up to them? Is cryptocurrency here to stay? These questions and more are answered this week on Imagination in Action, where our two incredible speakers share their perspectives on life, the economy, and the country. Janet Hill and David Rubenstein, both of the Carlyle Groups, Duke Board of Directors and Kennedy Center Board, talk with John Werner and Allison Sanders about leadership, their childhoods and younger selves, cryptocurrency, the role of college, government service, the future of historical study, and the state of economic and political affairs both in Washington, D.C. and the country as a whole. This week’s show also features music from Max Holm, Caroline Goulding, and world renowned whistler Chris Ullman, who gives a stunning rendition of Duke Ellington’s “Take the ‘A’ Train” after meeting and whistling for David at the top of Washington Monument years earlier. Tune in this week for another funny, informative, and thought-provoking episode of Imagination in Action.

Through Russian Snows by G. A. Henty (1832 - 1902) LibriVox There are few campaigns that, either in point of the immense scale upon which it was undertaken, the completeness of its failure, or the enormous loss of life entailed, appeal to the imagination in so great a degree as that of Napoleon against Russia. Fortunately, we have in the narratives of Sir Robert Wilson, British commissioner with the Russian army, and of Count Segur, who was upon Napoleon's staff, minute descriptions of the events as seen by eye-witnesses, and besides these the campaign has been treated fully by various military writers. I have as usual avoided going into details of horrors and of acts of cruelty and ferocity on both sides, surpassing anything in modern warfare, and have given a mere outline of the operations, with a full account of the stern fight at Smolensk and the terrible struggle at Borodino. I would warn those of my readers who may turn to any of the military works for a further history of the campaign, that the spelling of Russian places and names varies H αντιπροσωπεία του Department of Civil Imagination (DCI) στην Αθήνα Onassis AiR Στo πλαίσιο του ευρωπαϊκού δικτύου RESHAPE, το 3 137 με την υποστήριξη και σε συνεργασία με το Onassis AiR επιχειρεί να στήσει έναν διάλογο για τη σύγχρονη πολιτιστική διαχείριση και πολιτική στην Ελλάδα.https://www.onassis.org/initiatives/onassis-future/residencies/onassis-air/the-department-of-civil-imagination-dci-agency-in-athens PodGuiCast Guilerme Marinho This the Best Podcast in my imagination. The New Freedom Woodrow Wilson The book is not a discussion of measures or of programs. It is an attempt to express the new spirit of our politics and to set forth, in large terms which may stick in the imagination, what it is that must be done if we are to restore our politics to their full spiritual vigor again, and our national life, whether in trade, in industry, or in what concerns us only as families and individuals, to its purity, its self-respect, and its pristine strength and freedom.
