Steal This Idea: Multi-platform Storytelling

The Matrix franchise was groundbreaking on a number of levels, but for it, one of the aspects I loved about it was that it told its story across different mediums: movies, games, short films, comics, blogs, etc. Now, this might not seem so revolutionary, but what makes it truly incredible is that EACH of these propelled the story forward and YET was a contained experience. Think about: the MCU isn't content with its comics. Not directly. And so for a while I've had this idea of telling a story across multiple platforms (from podcast, to vlogs, short films, social media, etc). How cool would that be? Well... I haven't begun to execute on this idea and I don't think I'll be able to for a while and feel free to take it and run with it! Really.
