Summary

This piece was a collaboration between me, an art student, and 2 science students. I wrote it in my last year at Western Michigan University, using inspiration from a data analysis from a tea sample that my group chose. Together, the art student and I wrote a piece to be performed with a lighting sculpture. It is for 4 percussionists grouped around the sculpture, and uses triggered fixed media as well. Some of the percussion instruments are doumbeks, dun-duns, singing bowls, shaker, bodhrans, and even conch shell. I have not gotten a live recording of this yet- it works much well in a space, performed with real instruments. I always told the audience before the piece started, that it's a piece to get lost in- to let your mind drift to wherever it may while the piece unfolds.
