Steve Harvey says rich people don't sleep 8 hours a day - that's not true

from The Dr Boyce Breakdown · host Dr Boyce Watkins

"Rich people don't sleep eight hours a day. That's a third of your life. There ain't but 24 hours in a day. You cannot be sleep eight hours a day," Steve Harvey said before referencing Proverbs 6:11.  It is true that in today’s world, the wealthy and successful often seem to be able to do more with less sleep. We often hear stories of CEOs, entrepreneurs, and other high-level executives who get by on only a few hours of sleep each night. However, this doesn’t mean that this is a healthy way to live, and in fact, it could be detrimental to your health.  A lack of sleep can have a long list of negative effects on your body, mind, and overall wellbeing. Physically, a lack of sleep can lead to a weakened immune system, increased risk of heart disease, and even a higher risk of diabetes. It can also lead to problems with concentration, memory, and motor skills.  Mentally, a lack of sleep can lead to depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. It can also lead to difficulty in making decisions and can even increase the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.  Overall, a lack of sleep can have a negative impact on your quality of life. It can lead to a decrease in energy levels, an increase in irritability, and an overall decrease in your ability to function at your best.  Therefore, it is important to recognize that everyone needs a certain amount of sleep in order to stay healthy and function at their best. While it may seem like the wealthy and successful are able to get by on little sleep, this is not the case, and in fact, it can have a long list of health implications. Therefore, it is important to make sure that you are getting the proper amount of sleep each night in order to stay healthy and perform at your best.
