What health benefits does sulfur have? What keto foods are high in sulfur? Detox is one of the main uses of sulfur. Sulfur and detoxification: Sulfur is the most important element in detoxification. In the liver, you have various enzymes that turn poisons and toxins into harmless particles. A lot of these enzymes are sulfur-based. You need sulfur to make these enzymes work. A few more sulfur benefits besides sulfur for detox are: • Sulfur is involved in three very important amino acids that are cofactors to help make one of the most important antioxidants in the body. • Sulfur is involved in two vitamins: biotin and thiamine.
