It's the week of not-E3 or Keigh-3...better known as Summer Game Fest, and we dive deep into the major presentations from across the industry, highlighting the games that most captured our attention and excitement. Sony's presentation delivered impressive announcements including Marvel's Wolverine, Dr Doom coming to Marvel Tokon, Rayman Legends Untold bringing a classic platformer back with new adventures, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis reimagining Lara Croft's saga, and God of War: Laufey expanding the Norse mythology universe. The main Summer Game Fest showcase featured major reveals that include two brand new Cuphead games expanding the run-and-gun franchise, the baffling appearance of Tupac in Stranger Than Heaven, two exciting Star Wars games with Zero Company and Galactic Racer offering different takes on the beloved franchise, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Revelation bringing the ambitious remake project forward with significant new content. Xbox's presentation showcased an eclectic mix of upcoming titles including the return of Crazy Taxi in modern form, Clockwork Revolution offering a steampunk adventure, Persona 4 Revival revisiting a beloved JRPG classic, and ateaser for Persona 6 that has fans speculating about the next entry. The showcase also highlighted Vivarium, Gears of War: E-Day exploring the franchise's origins, and Spyro: A Realm Beyond bringing the dragon back to gaming.
