In this episode, we feature producer, Ashley Chrisman. We explore her journey from growing up on the south side of Chicago, her undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, her M.F.A in Film and Television Production from USC, her present day endeavors with creating viral videos with Blavity, co-hosting her movie and tv review show "Between 2 Sistas", interviewing Denzel and Viola, being Chicago delegate, collaborating with John Singleton, to her upcoming debut feature film. She discusses her pet peeves, love for rachet music, and much more. Her goal is to shed a different light on the everyday representations of minorities, and to find new and innovative ways to bridge the gap between community activism and filmmaking. Chrisman was a 2016 Film Independent, Project Involve Producing Fellow. She currently resides in Los Angeles and works at Women In Film, an organization that advocates for gender parity in the entertainment industry.
