Created by the esteemed Paul Haggis (screenwriter for the Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby (2004) and Crash (2005), along with the James Bond films Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008)), the show followed the adventures of Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constable Benton Fraser, who first comes to Chicago on the trail of the killers of his father, and has remained, attached as liaison with the Canadian Consulate while also working alongside a detective of the Chicago Police Department to solve crimes. The show ran between 1994-1999 and spawned four seasons. Part 1 of our Due South deep dive finds Vahé and Imran exploring the 22-part season 1 as they unpack the dynamics between its two incredible leads in Paul Gross and David Marciano, the show's fantastic music along with its excellent balance of comedy, drama and tinges of fantasy.
