Suppling a Tense Horse Q&A

from Dressage with Amelia · host Amelia Newcomb

Have you watched this week’s YouTube video? I would recommend watching it as it’s a really interesting one. I taught a symposium in Idaho late last year and I had a super student on a Lusitano and he started anticipating. So I shared how we worked with him when he started to anticipate the canter transition. If you have a horse that starts anticipating and getting tense, it can be hard. I would recommend working on some circles and patterns and focusing on tempo. Dressage is definitely the hardest sport!I also shared an update about Harvey, he’s going to stay with my mom in Colorado for a year to have a break and just hang out in the pasture for a year.I want to remind you all to love and cherish your horses and appreciate every day you have with them.PS.
