A number of politicians, including Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour, were heckled during Waitangi speeches with conflicts surrounding treaty principles interpretations remaining the primary contention point.  Although, Māori Development Minister Tama Potaka says that, despite the evident tension, progress is being made.
