Taoiseach says HSE cannot be interfered with while considering feasibility study on new North West Surgical Hub
The Taoiseach has confirmed that the HSE is still studying a feasibility Study in relation to the location of a surgical hub in the North West. Michael Martin stopped short of confirming that a surgical hub for Sligo was part of a Government formation deal. In a Dáil exchange with Donegal TD Padraig Pádraig Mac Lochlainn, The Fianna Fáil Leader confirmed that Junior Minister Marian Harkin is strongly advocating for the facility to be developed in Sligo. He went on to add that he is also aware of the representations being made by elected representatives in Donegal by Deputies, Pat the Cope Gallagher and Junior Minister Charlie McConalogue for the facility to be situated there:
