THE CHAIR (S1/Ep23) — Tapped on the ShoulderHello Beautiful People, I’m Your Host Dreme. I’m a Black woman, an educator turned tech entrepreneur but still an educator. Building a platform called THE CHAIR is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hairboards, connect to hair stylists, and share hair care tips all in one space for a more joyous and streamlined experience. I built THE CHAIR Podcast to highlight hair journeys. A reminder to keep creating magic. As people sit in THE CHAIR you will get more than just hair stories. You will be immersed into experiences surrounding education, entrepreneurship, and identity. She is a badass and I am in awe of what she has already accomplished and I am excited to see her continue to thrive in all the areas that interest her. I am always rooting for her success and laughter along the way.  Her Bio: Shalaya Morissette is a trailblazer with over 13 years of expertise at the nexus of Business Administration, Energy, and Engineering. A dynamic leader, she excels in advancing federal diversity and economic opportunity programs, fostering partnerships with thousands of organizations across the energy sector. Her macro-level understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing small businesses and underrepresented communities informs her strategic vision, enabling her to drive impactful change in clean energy through innovative policy, education, and community initiatives.Shalaya’s diverse career journey has equipped her with a robust perspective on energy, education, and community engagement. Before joining Walker-Miller Energy, she served in pivotal roles at the Department of Energy, championing workforce development and minority business inclusion. Her earlier career includes impactful contributions to the utility sector, where she ensured compliance with regulatory safety standards, as well as leadership roles in higher education and global transportation as Director of Affiliate Relations.
