Tensions spill over as Sligo Leitrim TD walks out of Dáil Chamber

Tensions spilled over in the Dáil this morning which resulted in Sligo Leitrim Independent TD, Marc MacSharry, walking out mid-debate.Deputy MacSharry had brought a motion forward regarding delays in appeals by An Bord Pleanála.He raised the issue of a house in Sligo that lodged an appeal against a planning objection in June 2023, and has still received no response.This was compared to a similar situation in Louth, where an appeal was lodged in October, and a response issued at the start of February.Unsatisfied with Minister Malcolm Noonan's response, Deputy MacSharry then left the Chamber, drawing criticism from both the Minister and the Leas Ceann-Chomhairle.
