The Anointing Upon - Anointing of the Holy Spirit

The “anointing” refers to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit upon a person empowering that person to do what God has assigned them to do. The anointing within refers to the work of the Holy Spirit within the believer. The anointing upon has to do with being empowered by God to do what God has assigned us to do. We see the work of the Spirit as a spring/fountain within the believer, and the work of the Spirit as rivers flowing out of the believer. We also learn that receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the starting point for every believer to have the anointing upon, to be clothed with the Holy Spirit, to have the rivers of living water flowing out, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit being released through their lives. We also briefly reflect on the symbols of the Holy Spirit and what these teach us about one or more aspect of the Holy Spirit's work: Wind, Fire, Rain, Oil, Dove, Water (spring, river), Light.
