The Arizona Republic Linda Valdez interviewed Mark Henkel - July 2006

from National Polygamy Advocate · host Mark Henkel

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed for The Arizona Republic by Linda Valdez, in  Phoenix, Arizona, on July 3, 2006.  The reporter, having written previous articles about the Mormon polygamists in what Mark Henkel calls the "Mormonland bubble" of Utah/Arizona, was rather biased in her thereby thinking that "all" polygamy is supposedly associated with the crimes of the criminal cult FLDS, Warren Jeffs, and Tom Green from the previous years.  She learned much from this extensive education on many related issues. Mark Henkel definitively differentiated the difference between Mormon Polygamy vs Christian Polygamy and how other different forms of polygamy are defined by their respective applicable adjectives.  He also expained how, despite the "mainstream LDS" demands that media obey their religious institution and not use the word "Mormon" to identify Mormon Polygamy (to instead call them as the unmodifed term, "polygamist"), doing that is a false description that wrongly and misleadingly suggests that all other forms of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, supposedly also do whatever the crimes those media stories are reporting. Numerous arguments about polygamy in the Bible were explained.  The "Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution" to end the marriage debate was expained. And Mark Henkel detailed how de-criminalizing polygamy for junrelated consenting adults can pro-actively give victims of other real crimes the freedom to openly and safely report those crimes without fear that their polygamous familes could still be destroyed by law enforcement.  This hour-plus interview unquestionably provides any listener with a comprehensive education about the issues. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com
