Content marking, marketing is no longer just an optional strategy. It's a must. Seventy-three percent of business-to-business marketers are producing more content this year than they did last year. That's crazy, staggering numbers.

It's not just about getting your authority out there. It's about answering questions to your market. If you're the first one to do that, then you win. You win.

Not just that. Content marketing strategies are going to get you tons of traffic. No longer the days of trying to optimize your home page and a landing page and trying to get some SEO services and rank the home page for maybe a few handful of traffic keywords. Those are outdated strategies, very, very outdated strategies.

We're going to go through this video right now. We're going to give you some really good tips and strategies of how you as a business owner are going to be able to buy on your own, apply great content marketing strategies for yourself. We're also going to provide a solution if you don't have time to do that as well in this video. Here's what you do.

Let's get consistent at publishing content from your website first. Once you do that, then you can post it to your social media profiles. Let's back up a little bit. Let's go back.

Let's go to your website. When you publish content, you want to make sure it's four different things. Always be thinking about these things while you publish your content. You want to make sure it's authoritative.

Make sure that what you're talking about really is accurate and honest and it's real. You want to make sure it's informative. Make sure that information you're getting is great for your answering questions for your market. It's information that's helping people.

It's helping your community. You want to make sure that it's relevant, obviously relevant to your niche. The last one is most important one is make sure that it's engaging. We have something that we call the seven levels of engagement and it goes like this.

When we publish a page on our client's website, we really like to focus on what is it that makes a published page on a website engaging for the media, for people, just anybody in your community. Here's a seven levels. First, it's video. You want to make sure that you've got video on your page.

It's probably one of the toughest things to do because video you've got to think about lighting. Is it going to be raw? Is it going to be high end and things like that? Really, video doesn't have to be so intimidating.

You can make a video out of just slides and then narrate over your slides. That's a quick fix if you don't feel like being in front of a camera or you don't have anybody in your office that wants to be in front of a camera. The video is definitely on the top of the list because it's absolutely just a really engaging media asset to have as part of your strategy. The next one would be audio.

It's really easy to take either from the source of your video or from your content and use the third party app and convert your text or your video into audio. We like to use soundcloud for the hosting of the audio because it's great. Soundcloud gives you a really nice snippet code that's just really easy to embed right onto your page while you're publishing. It just looks really nice to have the audio file.

People can just click on it if they're on a phone, a mobile phone. It's really easy for them to click play and actually listen to your post rather than have to read it so some people are like that. You live in a really picky digital space where people want different types of media assets when they're reading things. You can think Pinterest and Instagram for that.

The next thing speaking of Pinterest and Instagram is our images. You want to make sure you have images about the content you're talking about. Images are they don't have to be super high-end stock images. They could be just an abstract photo of something that you shop with your smartphone.

As long as the images are somewhat relevant, you're great. That's going to attract engagement onto your posts. Very smart to have images. The next thing you want to have is some type of downloadable document.

It can be a PDF file. There's great plug-ins for WordPress that you can just install and every time you do a post it automatically provides a PDF file. People can actually download that. Believe it or not, people like to read PDF files.

People like to download stuff so they keep reading it later. It's just crazy to me. I like if I'm there, I like to read it now. But believe it or not, people will actually like to read downloadable files.

It's a great strategy by the way. If you have a downloadable file to actually add a call to action inside of that downloadable file to start building your email list. It's a little extra nugget there for building a list for your business. The next two things are kind of common sense but maybe you can use it.

It's basically social sharing widgets and RSS sharing widgets. Make sure social sharing widget, a really good one to use is like add this because they provide analytics and it's super easy again. It's kind of like SoundCloud where they provide a snippet code and you just embed it into your website. Really easy to do.

A lot of the stuff isn't, it's not that technical. You kind of have to think about what you're doing when you're publishing your content to make these things engaging. Obviously, the last one I already mentioned but just make sure you have an RSS friendly site and RSS friendly feed for your page so that people are able to subscribe to your RSS so that they don't always have to revisit your website. They can just subscribe to your feed and whenever you're updated and they're in their feed, whether apps are using it or home page using it or using Yahoo, home pages or whatever, it's really easy for them to integrate those feeds into something that they're always common.

People like simplicity. The next thing you want to do is just make sure that you're consistent with your content marketing, with your publishing. Once a day is great, once a week is okay and once a month is okay but make sure you're doing it at least once a month minimum, once a week is better and once a day, like five days a week during the weekdays is awesome. It's going to give you tons of traction.

That's kind of it. When you have those types of multimedia assets on your page, those different seven levels of engagement, you can do all kinds of stuff with it. Now you want to go after you've published it from your website, you know you can go to your social sharing sites and publish the different types of assets that you already have on your website to your social sharing sites. So if you have a Pinterest page, it's easy.

You already have the image on your page, just pin it to your Pinterest page, Instagram, same thing. Make sure that when you post to your social media sites, you don't want to just click a button and then post it. You want to actually manually post it into your Facebook fan page or your Twitter feed and things like that so that you can kind of add a snippet of unique content about what the post is about. So what this is doing is that you're authenticating the post number one, but you're also doing just a little bit of SEO while you're doing it.

Believe it or not, the search engines will eat this up. And if you have a YouTube video and you post that YouTube video and you write a unique description, YouTube's going to want to rank that video for long-tail keywords because you wrote a unique description. And the same thing with Pinterest, you know, when you pin it, you just pin it, put a unique description, think about your market and think maybe think about some keywords too. Don't over, don't get too crazy with over stuffing and over optimizing.

Those days are long gone in SEO. Just think about the people and what it is that your market wants when you're publishing your posts. So those are some great strategies. Make sure you're consistent.

Just make sure that you're writing, you're writing is great and you're just having engaging material and you're sharing it on your social sites. You don't want to kind of make your content too thin. In other words, you don't want to get lazy and just kind of like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then, you know, scrape an image off the search engines and then you know, you'll post your website.

You want to make sure that you're taking time. It's just such a, it's going to make such a huge difference in the business, the longevity of your business. If you just take your time when you're building these posts and do it right.
