The Blood of Christ

The ordinance of Communion, or the Lord's Supper, is a time to remember and reflect on what Jesus did for us when He died on the cross. But most Christians probably view the death of Christ from a "sanitized" perspective, generically referring to the crucifixion rather than really focusing on the specific details of what Christ suffered on our behalf. The same is true when we speak of the blood of Christ, even though it is the central component of the sacrifice He made. Christ's shed blood represents the life that He gave us, the love that He has for us, and the forgiveness that He offers us.
