The Cassandra Protocol

from Contact High Music · host Contact High Music

The universe is broadcasting. Humanity’s survival depends on pretending we can't hear it. Marcus Vance is a terrestrial operative for Solar Warden, the US Navy’s deeply classified fleet of orbital submarines. His mission: protect the Voxes—the rare, traumatized individuals whose minds act as biological antennas for a deafening, 17-hertz cosmic static. For decades, the Navy has used these broken human radios to quietly scavenge the stars while hiding in the dark from the "Architects," the indifferent, god-like intelligence that governs the universe. But the Syndicate, a ruthless corporate shadow-state, isn't hiding. They are weaponizing the signal, and they are actively hunting. When Syndicate kill-teams target Maya Lin—a blind, twenty-something Vox who navigates the terrifying, multi-dimensional geometry of the cosmic broadcast with unprecedented clarity—Vance is pulled into a brutal, high-stakes terrestrial manhunt. Aided by Barrow, a burned-out, chain-smoking veteran of the Navy's deep-space tours who knows exactly how the universe sounds, Vance must keep Maya off the grid at all costs. Because Maya doesn't just hear the blueprints of the cosmos. She is the key to an impending technological leap that both sides are racing toward. If the Syndicate captures her and forces her connection to the network, they won't just win the Solar Cold War. They will inadvertently ring a bell that has been silent since the dawn of humanity. And if the Architects finally look down, the human race will be exterminated like a pest infestation. ©2026 m.p. moroney | contact high music
