The Causes, Costs and Cures for our Divisiveness with Marvin J. Southard, PhD

Marvin J. Southard, Ph.d in his long career, contributed to new understandings and acceptance of mental illness, explaining in his innovative programming, that we are all on the same path of mental wellness, educating communities on how to reduce the stigma of mental illness. He had a lasting impact as a Director of the Los Angeles County, California, Mental Health Department bringing together spirituality and mental health in partnership of service to individuals and families. This has meant a partnership between clergy leaders and the largest government mental health department in the USA. In discussing the divisiveness in the United States society and in many parts of the world, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning decades of working in diverse communities. He has a unique proposal how we may come together knowing the high costs of what a continuing divided society can mean.
