A McDonald’s All-American in 1979 and a star at the University of Rhode Island, Owens ranks among the Rams’ all-time scoring leaders and was selected in the 1983 NBA Draft. After a successful playing career, he turned to coaching and spent many years as an assistant at La Salle University, where he helped develop talent and build competitive teams.
