His principal practice areas are intellectual property, information technology, data protection and cybersecurity. He was educated at the University of Tokyo and Harvard Law School. He serves as a member of the Board of Examiners, Industrial Property Council of Japan Patent Office and also as a member of the committee (and the chair of a working group) on AI and data contract guidelines for the Japanese government (METI). He is co-head of the firm’s data security, healthcare, fintech and robotics practices.
