He promises to be with us! And today on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the reality of it . On Pentecost, Jesus fulfilled his promise to send the "Advocate," a title for the Holy Spirit. And Jesus didn't just send the Spirit to keep us company. This Advocate gives us spiritual power to participate in Christ's saving work He continues to harvest souls into his kingdom. How? He comes to make his home in our hearts, through his powerful, Spirit-driven Word that proclaims salvation for the sinner. That's how Jesus deals with us - through his Word. And that's how Jesus carries on his victory march of the gospel. We are not left alone or missing out. God gives birth to the Church to carry his Word into the world.
