The Flesh and the Spirit

from Central Assembly · host Jeff Gravis

This is without a doubt one of the most important sections of Scripture, in regards to the believers walk with the Lord, in the Bible. Yet, many believers fail to grasp the significance of this section of Scripture for one reason or another. At times the emphasis is so heavy on the works of the flesh that it is easy to miss out on the beauty of the fruit of the Spirit. At other times, the focus on the fruit of the Spirit is so strong that we miss the warning of the ugly works of the flesh. An understanding of both the flesh and the Spirit is absolutely essential in the Christian life. The consequences of walking in the flesh are not only manifested in our everyday life, but also result in the loss of our own souls. But when we walk in the Spirit, we are promised that out of this will come an abundance of fruit that will be displayed in our character. The life of Christ will be at work in us and displayed through us. We must know the difference between THE FLESH AND THE SPIRIT.
