This is we can be pushed and pulled about by the opinions of others or our sense of importance before others or even our desire to do good for others. All of these things, while not necessarily bad, can leave us uncertain which way to turn or what to do. In these verses Jesus shows us that true freedom is found not in focusing on ourselves, but on Him and giving our lives entirely over to Him.
