The Heir, the Adoption of Son of God “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, different nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant but a son and if a son then an heir of God through Christ, how be it then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?” (Gal. 4:1-9).  Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man, (I Tim. 2:5). His mission was fully accomplished. He is in full control and is exalted to the Father’s right hand. He is the Master with almighty power. Jesus came to defy the power of Satan, (Acts 26:18). He challenged the rule of Satan, (Col. 2:10); conquered the right to dominion, (Col 2:14, 15). He set us free from the cause of sin, (I Pet. 3:18). He can set us free from the curse of sin, (I Pet. 5:10:11). God’s spiritual authority is the most astonishing power in the universe. The reign of Jesus Christ on earth with His saints is as sure as His birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension and High Priestly intercession. He has always wanted His disciples to participate with Him in spiritual warfare as is shown in the Scriptures.
