Science fiction, abbreviation SF or sci-fi, a form of fiction that deals principally with the impact of actual or imagined science upon society or individuals. In the first book of the Rigveda, collection of Sanskrit hymns (1700–1100 BC), there is a description of "mechanical birds" that are seen "jumping into space speedily with a craft using fire and water.(Arabian Nights, 8th-10th century CE) also feature science fiction elements. One example is "The Adventures of Bulukiya.Lucian of Samosata's True History reads like a doomed acid trip.
