Medhat, a young man in Egypt, plotted the murder of his wealthy father, Mr. Kamal, in 2012. Initially, he enlisted two accomplices, Yaacoub and Adel, to stage a robbery intended to kill his father, but the first attempt only resulted in theft. Undeterred, Medhat devised a second plan, exploiting a moment when his father opened the door, allowing the accomplices to carry out the fatal attack. Investigators initially treated the crime as a robbery, but inconsistencies in Medhat’s alibi, suspicious behavior, and his strained relationship with his father over money and inheritance raised red flags. Phone records and recovered stolen items ultimately linked Medhat to the murder plot.
