When his science officer picked up a faint power signature from deep inside the forbidden zone, Roten's first instinct was to leave. Against every council regulation, the Kikes Explorer crossed the boundary into the zone. The vessel was enormous, nearly four kilometers long, larger than any known dreadnought, but it wasn't dead. It was dormant and etched into its side under the damage and decay, where words written in a forgotten language, to DS eternity, the eternity, the last recorded tearing dreadnought before humanity vanished.
