God often calls us to things that we are afraid to do or we just plain don’t want to. Melissia was feeling led to speak about the rebuilding of the temple in the book of Haggai. When God‘s people finally surrendered in obedience, they were able to feel a fullness and joy from God. Christina talked about that same surrender God’s servant Job had when he lost his whole family and everything he owned and was stricken with sickness. When Job surrendered to God, he was blessed by God with something greater just as God’s people in Haggai were.

Let’s live our lives in obedience and surrender to God. Then we can see what God truly has in store for us in our lives. We are here to bring glory to Him, but He is so gracious to bless us in that journey.

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“I said in my heart, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure; enjoy yourself.” But behold, this also was vanity. I said of laughter, “It is mad,” and of pleasure, “What use is it?” I searched with my heart how to cheer my body with wine—my heart still guiding me with wisdom—and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the children of man to do under heaven during the few days of their life.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“So I became great and surpassed all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me. And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I kept my heart from no pleasure, for my heart found pleasure in all my toil, and this was my reward for all my toil. Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

‭‭Haggai‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
““Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the Lord. You looked for much, and behold, it came to little. And when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? declares the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lies in ruins, while each of you busies himself with his own house.”

‭‭Haggai‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“Then Haggai, the messenger of the Lord, spoke to the people with the Lord’s message, “I am with you, declares the Lord.” And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,”

‭‭Haggai‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the Lord. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Work, for I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not. For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glo
