The Lost Bacon Crisis

In Matthew 8:28-34, a lot of bacon throws itself into the sea. Why? Because demons asked Jesus for permission to be put into the pigs if they were to be cast out from the men they had previously been tormenting. Let that soak in for a minute. This sermon explores this strange, exciting (scary?) story for what it tells us about demons, but also what it says about the reality of interacting with Jesus. That reality is that not everyone will be excited about our healing or be drawn to Jesus when they see his power. Some people will be more concerned with what they lose when they or others get healed, and they will ask Jesus to get out of their lives. But Jesus is always better than bacon.
